Privacy Policy

Tino ("Tino," "we," "us") is a mobile app for tracking a baby's sleep, feeding, diapers, growth, and family memories. This policy explains what information Tino collects, how it's used, and your choices. In short: the information you enter about your family stays on your device — Tino does not require an account and does not operate a server that stores it.
Summary
- No account required. You can use Tino without signing up or providing your name, email, or phone number.
- Your tracked data stays on your device. Baby profile, sleep/feed/diaper/growth entries, and Memories journal entries and photos are stored locally and are not uploaded to Tino's servers — we don't operate a server for this data at all.
- No ads, no data brokers, no selling your data. Tino does not show ads and does not share or sell your information to third parties for marketing purposes.
- One third-party service is used for crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics, operated by Google) — described in detail below.
- This website (tino.care) uses optional, cookie-based Google Analytics — only after you accept the cookie notice. The Tino app itself does not use Google Analytics.
Information We Collect
Information stored only on your device. When you use Tino, information you enter — your baby's profile (name, date of birth, sex, photo), tracker entries (sleep sessions, feeds, diaper changes, growth measurements), Memories journal entries and photos, and app preferences — is stored in a local database on your phone. This information is never transmitted to Tino, and we have no access to it.
Diagnostic and crash data. Tino uses Firebase Crashlytics, a crash-reporting service operated by Google, to help us find and fix bugs. When the app crashes or encounters certain errors, technical information is automatically sent to Firebase Crashlytics — this can include your device model, operating system version, app version, crash stack traces, and recent app log messages. This diagnostic data is separate from the tracked family data described above, and is used solely to keep Tino stable. See Google's Firebase privacy practices at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Microphone (Cry Detection, optional). If you turn on the optional Cry Detection feature during a sleep session, Tino uses your device's microphone to listen for crying sounds. This audio is analyzed entirely on your device using on-device processing — it is not recorded to a file, stored, or sent anywhere, including to Tino or any third party. Only the fact that a cry was detected, and when, is saved locally like any other tracker entry.
Notifications. Tino can show local notifications on your device (for example, when the white-noise auto-off timer ends). These are generated and delivered entirely by your device's operating system — no notification content is sent through an external server.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above only to: (1) operate the app's features on your device, and (2) diagnose and fix technical problems via crash reports. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third-party service integrated into the Tino app is Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC), used exclusively for the crash and diagnostic reporting described above. The app itself does not integrate advertising SDKs, analytics-for-marketing SDKs, or data brokers.
This Website (tino.care)
This policy also covers the tino.care marketing website you may be reading it on — separate from the Tino mobile app described above. This website uses Google Analytics (Google LLC) to understand aggregate visitor traffic and which links are used (for example, download and Privacy Policy clicks), but only after you accept the cookie notice shown on your first visit — declining keeps analytics cookies off. The Tino mobile app itself does not use Google Analytics or any advertising SDK. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.
Children's Privacy
Tino is intended for use by parents and caregivers to track information about their own children — it is not directed at children and is not designed to be used directly by children. All information about a child is entered by the parent or caregiver and is stored locally as described above.
Data Retention and Deletion
Locally-stored data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can delete individual entries (a tracker record, a Memories entry, etc.) within the app at any time. Uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data, since Tino does not keep a server-side backup. We are working on adding an in-app option to export or delete all of your data at once.
Your Choices
Microphone access (for Cry Detection) and notification permission are both optional and can be granted, denied, or revoked at any time from your device's system settings. Denying either does not prevent you from using the rest of the app.
Security
Your tracked data is stored using your device's standard app-sandboxed local storage. As with any app, the overall security of that data also depends on your device's own security (passcode, encryption-at-rest settings, etc.), which we encourage you to keep enabled.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app.
